Lots of spam, never seen this much before at Bennos. Maybe one for the IT people to sort out ...remove the 'Booty' so to speak.

I am also having problems logging in. Despite entering my password correctly I'm being prompted to re-enter with a message (in a pink box) saying that I have exceeded my log in attempts.

I was out buying some new "walking" boots and now I was using them to kick some spammers out.

The second problem of the logging in can be solved very easely, STAY LOGGED IN!

I set an easier catchpa (anti spam measure) a few days ago to make it easier for people to log in. I received messages that not everybody was technically able to drag the block "figures" to the rights. I think the spammers managed to get around it and register anyway. I've now set a different, more difficult catchpa. Hope that helps.

My password is so fiendishly clever that most of the time I can't work out what it is myself.

But I've managed to log in after several attempts so I just thought I'd say that it's good to have the forum back again, and it's good to see posts from all of you rather than from the spammer ratbags.

And, most important, I hope you had a really good holiday Benno.

Yes, I agree with Graeme's comments. It does look as if the stream of spurious 'new members' is still coming, but at least the posts are now real, not spammer trash.

I agree. The captchas are sometimes difficult to interpret but perseverance is the key.

Incidentally, this morning I was not asked to identify a captcha at all.

Hi to all you guys presently able to read this. i must admit that i ain't the smartest tool in the tool box,and so having tried and tried more and more,i could not pull up my usual comfy chair upon this Forum. My zest to take active part started to fade.
'Dim-wit, muttered WingNut', under his breath. 'Us smilies have regained a voice'. 'boy o boy,it certainly has been so quiet around here. mentioned the Little Button'.

Eventually i asked my Mrs B,to help get me onto Benno's. Although she like myself had quite a confused time of it... until she asked for a new password to be sent to my e-mail account. It arrived and using that... Zip! i was on active line here again.
i certainly thanked her for taking time out from other things to help me.

And so it was,and so it is.
