1/72-ish figures from board games, etc..

This thread is designed to dig up long forgotten, 1/72-ish scale figures found in board games and as extras to toy vehicles, etc., etc..

I would first like to nominate the 18 quite crude, but perfectly serviceable, medium-brown mules found in the 1960s Spears board game "Trek", which also included six small jeeps and dozens of yellow store crates. You can usually find an illustration of the contents for sale on ebay.

In the early 1970s I used the mules to carry mountain guns converted from the front axles of Airfix wagon train wagons, the wheels of which were small.

Anyone got any nominations of 1/72-ish scale figures from unusual sources that have been long overlooked?

That is my only board game figure.
It is from Historical board gaming (PSR) with an H at the bottom stamped in.
A bit small for 1/72.

My friends had one released in 1987 or so, it was a samurai game with 1/72 scale warriors and one black ninja figure. I think it has a PSR link, I will look for it later.

It's seems that I've them all (don"t remember the name of the game).... the Hobbits are not too bad and.. there are so rare !
I'm not sure about the name of the Game, something like "The War of The Ring"

The figures are indeed from "The War of the Ring" but in this ebay picture they seem to be the original grey plastic..never saw pewter version..
Indeed they are so expensive as they are the special figures id the Game, but i think it is a good idea buying the complete Game, to have not only this wonferful group but also moré than 100 figs with Orcs, dwarves, elves, trolls, warg riders, urukhai, rohan, gondor and Southrons..
there is even another related game from same company, battle of Five Armies, related to The Hobbit book.. you will find the same Troop types for orcs, dwarves but some new elves, goblins, bats, eagles and again new charachters (for example Bilbo, Thorin or Gandalf handñing a sword)

This is a very interesting topic to view and to follow along in my tip toe avid style.

Concerning nostalgic figures from the past.
i can vividly recall having a board game that had a wizard that you spun in the board game middle. It then pointed with a metal pin or magic rod, at what one had to do to play your game. So one picked a card as instructed by this mystic game of puzzling activity.

Of course i am talking of my memory from the late 1950`s. Upon that day my friend David Krask , and i were busy sucking on a huge black and white humbug boiled sweet in our drooling gobs while playing that game. There was massive uncontrollable giggling while trying hard not to get the darn thing stuck in our throats. Boy! They sure were hard rock gob stoppers at no mistake.

We had no TV then,but the lit up Wireless Set drifted upon the constant hum of the incoming waves of music from the old time BBC.

Board games and playing with a few chewed upon plastic toy figures were our normal daily thing to do while laying belly down upon the floor.
i was happy content even then,but none the less still a hopeless dreamer. BB

I have no idea if I did this right but if the link above works you will see a line up of some Eagle Miniatures, the light blue and black figures, scaled with Caesar Orc and Elf, and an Alliance undead figure. The Eagle figures belong to Defenders of the Realm boardgame. Link below:

The figures cost $1.49 US Dollars kind of expensive. The Skeleton figure is a bit large but I may have to use them to fill in my undead army. Another image I think below.
