Waterloo1815 releases WWI Alpini, Italian Mountain Troops

Posted by Erich von Manstein on 13 Jan 2016, 18:16

Good news for us WWI buffs! :yeah:
Waterloo1815 lists their new set AP057 - "WWI Alpini, Italian Mountain Troops" as available.
From what you can see, we'll receive the usual Esci sculpting-style and 48 figures in 12 poses.

Have a look at Henk's site:
http://henk.fox3000.com/waterloo.htm
Or at the manufacturers own site:

Curious if they will add some WWI austro-hungarian Gebirgsinfanterie (Standschützen, Landesschützen, Kaiserjäger) or german Alpenkorps (with specific gear & in approtiate poses) in the future!?

Yeah, we all knew they were announced for quite a while already.
So maybe no big news to you but still worth mentioning here, don't you think? ;-)

Noticed that there are still no pictures of them at PSR, so I gonna show a few pics of the ones I received last week.

As you can see on the close ups, the Alpinis are on the taller side of 1/72 but still acceptable with 24mm to 25mm from top to toe. :yeah:
Nice & clean but also very Esci-esque sculpting and a bit flash on some figures.

Still curious if Waterloo1815 will add a set of associated WWI austro-hungarian Gebirgsinfanterie (Standschützen, Landesschützen, Kaiserjäger) or german Alpenkorps (with specific gear & in approtiate poses) to their WWI catalogue!?
Any advice from our italian friends here would be highly appreciated! :-D

PS:
Sorry for the reversed close up and the general poor quality.
Hope the pictures provide enough details for a first impression though?
