Manufacturer MAiM - Scarecrow made in 3D printing

Posted by Hellboy on 11 Jul 2016, 21:16

Hello!

I wanted to present you a new figure. The special thing about it is that they
was created in 3D printing. I had quite a bit of this new technology
heard, but never had a figure which was created in 3D printing.

The manufacturer MAiM has the figure of a scarecrow in three different sizes in the program. However, only in size 1/72 the figure in 3d-printing is produced.

I find the character very well. It has a lot of fine details. Furthermore, the figure can be used in each epoch and is therefore to use very versatile. A very nice work by the manufacturer MAiM produced with an interesting production method.

It remains interesting to see what the 3D printing technology even allows.

Please click on the picture to view it in full size. Enjoy the photos!

Your Hellboy

This looks very nice, indeed, and I think the 3D printing thing will probably change our whole hobby in the next few years.
But there is one aspect I really don't understand: Why is this figure coming in separate parts? In terms of the geometry of the figure, I don't see any necessity for this. Rather, this is one of the strengths of the new method - that you can do complex forms in one piece which you cannot achieve by a conventional mould. So having to glue these parts of a comparatively simple figure together would appear a real nuisance to me.
