ACW Sets from Italeri

Posted by MABO on 01 Oct 2016, 14:44

Just found the news that Italeri re-released the old ESCI ACW Sets actually. :(

I had hoped that we see new figures, maybe...

I don't see the problem in color of plastic.... primer would make them black, grey or white ;-)

I hope only that Italeri keep their own ACW-figures which are quite better than most of the old Esci-stuff.

And I won´t never understand the ones who are always complaining about the plastic-colours of new figures. Nothing is easier than to add a primer in the desired colour to the figures. It´s not a crime to have a unique colour for all figures! Frankly, I - as an adult - don´t understand what I should do with "one coloured, lifeless" figures. They need to been painted to become "alive" especially on a miniature-forum! - I know, that I am ignoring with these sentences absolutly all shouts of the "brown"-, "blue"- or "red"-fractions of figures-collectors.

Well, I think I have both sets :P

Now if only they'd be so kind to release the hard plastic Esci sets, it'd would be fan-effin-tastic.

The crawling and laying down poses are just a waste.

The crawling guys make pretty good casualties. Especially if the plastic is the same as the old ESCI-figures. That plastic was perfect for hot-water-conversions! Some old work from me: Image

In your pic there are some "standing" fallen soldier too.
Yes, you are right the options to buy a figure in a set of fallen ACW soldier as discussed example are very limited. To do scratch seams to be the lonely option.
To convert a standing figure into a fallen is more as to "flat" the figure. All his stuff and cloth hang in the upright pose down. Now in the fallen pose with some hot-water-conversion you change the pose but not all the stuff the soldier take with him to an other angle.
For comparison look at a conversion of a scratch made fallen soldier and one for example Airfix fallen soldier. French, German WWI as example.
You will notice what I want to explain.
To undeline my text see at the section: Work in progress, Ming Chinese troops. http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz70 ... alties.jpg
Finally it is up to the secne builder quality if he wil go with the hot-water-conversion or he want more.

And if it is possible for you please be so kind and show us more of your earlier hot-water-conversions-work :-D .

Ooops! This was just shown as an example what you can do with ESCI's lying ACW-figures. This is an old work that I showed here when it was new. I made a dio with Union figures too and thought about having a duel (they were different then) with myself. And to the moderators: I am not going to rerun all my old stuff again, this was just shown as an example. My old work is on the forum and probably not too hard to find via the search engine. Mr Cryns made a search and came up with a clown. :-D
