Okay so there are even more Germans on there. BUT and it's a huge BUT the illustration lists them as 'self assembly' and that the sets have 300pcs (pieces) in the box. So I'm guessing they're like the PSC stuff.

Germans with Tank riders - normal set
Counter terrorists - normal set
Dismounted crusaders - normal set
13thC knights - normal set
15thC footsoldiers and archers - normal set
German infantry - self assembly
Falschirmjager - self assembly
Afrika Korps - self assembly
Panzer Grenadier Great Coat - self assembly
Panzer Grenadier Kursk - self assembly
Panzer Grenadier Normandy - self assembly
Panzer Grenadier Cam cape - self assembly

Well normally I would be the same - "Yawn! yay more german soldiers (like, we haven't got enough?)"

But I've just started a Kursk project and need some infantry, and I am a big fan of Ceasar, so I guess that's good for me.

Plus those 15thC Footmen and Archers are going to go down very well in a Wars of the Roses WAB army, thank you very much. :-D

So the WWII Germans other than the tank riders( a few) are multipart-300+ pieces

A pity the release of this new line was not Russians and/or US and Germans. Preiser do a lot of super excellent WWII German multipart figures but no US or British. For the next 2 years or longer we have to pretend they have enemies or use inferior bendy wendy non multipart ones

If that special forces/ counter terrorist figure has a bow and arrow I presume he missed the archery module* at the training school. Modern warfare doesn't favour bolt upright figures- in reality they get killed and in games they look ridiculous (goes for some of the other sets as well). One or two good poses but a lot of what somebody has deemed I am looking for - sorry you are wrong .

Times are hard ; I am more fussy now especially with with only 30+ or even 30- in a box ( better to raise the price not half as insulting- I could count and divide at 5 years old).

On the plus side the multipart figures should have lots of accessories if they are like the ones in afv kits and they will not have the dreaded bends or fill ins. They are also far easier to convert especially when combined with the aforementioned Preiser figures.

David

*The 15th century set also has archers who do not know how to use a bow.

4 sets of PanzerGrenadiers - great :D !!! But, don't know why soldier on front illustration of German Infantry 1943 is wearin Erbsen muster tarnung (pea/ dot 44), introduced on March 1944 ??? And second objection - German Panzer Grenadiers from Normandy set look like they are wearing heavy padded winter uniforms...

"Knock knock!"
- "Who's there?"
- "Yvonne."
- "Yvonne who?"
- "Yvonne more Germans...!"

I was rather hoping that, with the Mycenaean chariot finally turning up, we might see some of the other long-awaited sets such as Babylonians and Hsiung-Nu... :(

The mediaevals look useful, though...

Yeah, now I can play Frankenstein and build my own Caesar Germans....I think I will do many running or shooting poses with those multipart figs, because I think Caesar never did those before.

OK everyone, I was happy until I started reading your comments. I agree with most of what you all say about the Germans, I think it is a waste too for such a quality company to produce so many repeat figures, especially ones which now will need to be assembled  frankly I will not buy these new German sets, enough said.

But O'Brien, you seem to be one of the few continuous modern fans on the forum in addition to me and I understand and agree mostly with your comments as well, just not your attitude. True, modern soldiers just don't walk around admiring the scenery in an Afghan firefight. Just look a bit closer though, there's only about nine true "modern" plastic sets on the market. I see a handful of new figures, armed with m4s, and wearing some interesting tactical gear and headgear such as British NVGs

Yeah its a stretch, but since modern figs are rare, I'm excited about some new ones, even if they are mediocre. At least I know who I can send the archers to

At least they didn't pull a Hat and drop the quantity and raise prices.

Does anyone know where one can find pictures of these? I'm intrigued to see the archers in the counter-terrorist set!

@ben bob : with a bit of luck, the self assembly sets are conversions a lot easier, so one can make different poses with one set.

Good evening.
It is really interesting idea of multipose figures. But I have mixed feeling. 2ww only Germans and mostly in camos. It is such similar that even Caesar people are lost. CM7216 on photo has really figures from set CM7214, but in little different poses. At least are DAK and paras. Sad that still no figures of pioneers, panzergrenadiers and others which are in gallery. Interesting – how many figures will be in box – 300 parts means at least 30 soldiers.
Set CMH077 looks like Ceasar try to catch two aims together – half tank riders and battle poses. So I hope that space between sets 077 and 082 will be used for other 2ww sets – but allied. There are German and US paras, so brits please. And also brits/indians & ANZAC desert and jungle. It is still empty place for 5th allied army – Poles. Both in 1939 uniforms [HaT’s are tragedy] and ‘44-45 eastern LWP. Minor Axis like Romania and Hungary are interesting too.

I have all the Caesar modern sets ( and Revell's, Preiser's). I like the Germans ( modern this time not WWII). The US Elite Force H058 has a very good selection of poses so Caesar can do it. I don't think this new H082 set measures up- thats all. I am not sure what they are - Seals? US? It does have the plural so maybe more than one country and possibly means Counter Terrorist and Elite Forces ( some look like special forces) they are of course not the same thing and a lot for 12 poses to cover. Maybe with another few similar ( counter terrorist/elite/special force) sets in the future the grand plan will become clear.

Comparing them with white metal (eg Under Fire Miniatures) and resin figures some of these are better geared to my requirements. These figures esp British (Helmand) are task orientated eg patrolling, command post etc, engineers with IED detectors and so on. Some have been illustrated on this forum and look very impressive. Like these from Vepa - relaxed patrolling Iraq 2011

I'm happy with the medievals, but I wonder when will I afford them...

Now, that bow would be interesting... if bigger and among a set of American soldiers (80's equipment). Yes, for a Rambo figure! :-D
