Yes - hard plastic. just realised - no panzerfausts! Shame really - otherwise really nice set. Certainly think it's worth the money, if a bit fiddly.

Cheers Steve - the sprue layout is very similar to the sprues in Caesar SiG33. The weapons and equipment sprue looks like it is the same as the one in that kit. I'm guessing each kit will feature a different set of poses and uniforms but share those sprues. The sprue with the heads also looks the same as the one in the SiG33 kit. I wonder each kit will have the same heads?

When I picked up the Caesar SiG33 I was impressed with the figures but not the weapons and gear, the details were soft when compared to similar sprues included in Preiser kits or the sprues in the Dragon Pak 40 kit. Tough to say from the pics if that is the case here, what is your opinion Steve?

I think as far as I'm concerned the quality is okay - after all they're 1/72nd scale figures, and they'll be used for wargaming so it's fine as far as I can see. It could be sharper, but it will do.

In the Sig33 kit the poses were grouped together on the sprue (arms, torso, legs) and that looks to be the case here as well. Eight basic combinations, although it is easy enough to mix and match arms (and some of the legs) to create variety. Also very useful bits for conversions of figures from other 1/72 scale sets.

Thanks for going to the trouble to take the pics.

They look very good but a challenge for the unwary. For those with a knowledge of anatomy and proportions some excellent miniatures could be made. Lots of sanding and reshaping.
I like the first pic on the left on the box -torso goes in the middle then an arm on either side and below the torso goes two legs and atop the torso a head and atop the head a helmet. I hope this is not the extent of the instructions. If it is they probably didn't look at the interiors of Preiser's boxes.
The price seems very good for all those bits. It will be great to replace some of the bendy weapons on the Caesar standard sets.
Now for US, Russian and British equivalents

How many poses are, and how many in total figures are in each box?

There's 8 figures per sprue - 16 to a box. As for the number of poses that's pretty much up to what you can do with so many options, I guess.

thanks Steve, the hand detail looks soft, almost like there is no finger detail at all - are they gloved hands by chance ? If not, that's a bummer for an otherwise good looking set !

Good observation
If this is the Normandy set as per link then the colour pic of the made up ones look as if they are in a hooded reversible smock and with mittens or gloves. More Ardennes than Normandy. The box art b/w background pic has a PzIII and a mg section looking like late Barbarossa and the single figure colour pic has the figure in a drawstring smock, rolled sleeves, pnzrfaust.

Sorry, no. These are the first Caesar Germans I have purchased so I don't have any others to compare them to.

Well, maybe you could make a scale comparison with other 1/72 figures of others commons brands or maybe you can tell me what's the average height of some figures?
