Zvezda are going to get the creative juices flowing for this project labelled "Hotwar1990". The official website just opened today
http://www.hotwar1990.com/ not fully filled out though. Maybe our Russian friends can give us more details as the game gathers steam, you can view some renders of the minis on zvezda russian home page.

Very much interested in this and really hope it takes off, maybe they will other NATO countries. Interesting enough they mention the Chinese as supporters of the USSR, prehaps foreshadowing the Peoples Army making it into the scene.

At any rate i plan on backing this with lots of cash

Thanks for the new link!
It will be interesting to see how this fills in in the future. Even with the extra cost, I will be willing to purchase a few of the Russians at least for converting.

When I first saw these I immediately thought of Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising, I guess once the game has been released you could use it for a refight of that.

To be honest although I will by some of the pieces I'm very interested in the Naval wargame.

I think the mini set format will work very well with a new modern setting, since troops have more uniformed equipment. Buying a heavy weapon set has a added generic trooper that all together rounds out a nice unit of soldiers, a added bonus that it is using a easy to glue plastic too !.

I know from last year zvezda was interested when i mentioned a particular Russian film set in Afghanistan, so i am glad they decided to go this way.
