Bought some like this but in 1/144th for my brother's 1/144th scale Casablanca class aircraft carrier - very nice. Very expensive but they will do the job nicely.

These translucent cast fellows ghost like in appearance reminded me of the time i made tiny plaster moulds and cast up entire soldiers using my hot glue gun! :-D

Share Desperation at the time dictated such a hot flowing course. BB

Ahha! bluefalchion,
there`s proof posted on the Forum, but mainly in the shape of things being quite smaller than a whole model figure. They being in total hundreds of French heads! All cast in hot glue, and from a plaster mould. All stuck and pinned onto earlier HAT Figures. One could go and try spotting them? :-D "That could be fun!"

Image "It Did Happen!" BONK! BONK! "It Didn`t!"

The earlier Hat box gave one 16 marching infantry to a box which was perfect for creating Massed French Formations, 11 years ago!

The heads from the Drummer, and the Officer were used as Patterns. Eight Heads to each mould.

"It did happen!"__ BONK! BONK! " It Didn`t !"

In Line with Miniature News!

Using Wax Polish as a Parting Agent! One can make and cast two part moulds in white metal`TIN or LEAD ,or even HOT GUM!`, with the use of Gravity,Cups,
In-gates,Spinners,Vents and Risers! Just like they did over two and a half thousand years ago in Egypt and Greece! FLATS are still made in fine red sand even today. BB

Now you have led me on a merry chase. I will tell you when I find the treasure. Luckily these US Navy from 3D printer do not need their heads swapped out.

My Topic La Haie Sainte 1815 Under Heavy Attack. A few can be seen, but it`s like looking for wood amongst the tree`s,but there are lots there on view, although I am not a good painter. BB

Well i never,is that a casting without arms?
Was there another mold for separate arms?
Or did it all blow up Mr Cryns ?
Translucent figures are very hard to see.
I`m sure the pattern would have been very good, but i cannot figure it out what ever it is.
If it did not run,( cast up fully ) you might need Risers! Or a Bigger Hotter Glue Gun.
Or better still buy figures from Alex.
:-D Respectfully BB

The last figure my eyes finally focused on and yes i can make out the pose of your figure,
and it looks complete. You cast it through the head, yes? BB

Figure 1 and 3 = the same. Its missing one foot, since that was the longest distance and a tiny passway through the ankle back to the not-injected foot.
I cast it through both the ass (an accidental sidehole in the mold) and one foot (bottom)
The vent hole is on top of the head, thats where the bulb came out.

The master looks like this and depicts an ancient rower that just left his galley with a pain in his back after rowing and being on board for too many hours:

The glue cast in the middle is a similar but different sculpt. Air got stuck in both arms whose hands touch hips. To solve this I cut two extra vent canals and the result was better after that.

Beano Boy--

I found your thread for La Haie St. Very impressive, sir! I got lost looking at all the pics of the massive formations and forgot to find the converted heads. The painting I saw on the figures was pleasing to my eyes.

Mr. Cryns-- I love your hot glue tired rower. Will you prime him and paint him up? And sorry to Bennos and the mods for such a thread hi-jack.

I found it too! I had not seen it before. The mass formations are great indeed.

Bluefalchion wrote:forgot to find the converted heads

But I found them. I know these figures, they were made with a bicorn and were on the market before similar ones with shako's came from Hat. Beano Boy I count very many of those swapped hotglue heads and they look very good. Much better than mine. I have to practice more.

Bluefalchion wrote:Will you prime him and paint him up?

Do you see the mold? Thats half food. A mixture of self rising flour an silicone kit.
Its a British recipe by BB. But I used the wrong kit and wrong flower. BB warned me for using self rising stuff.
So since my mold is poor, I can't judge the quality of the glue and the glue gun.

Lots of sculpting, molding and casting is going on here for a month now with every material I could find. First I finish that experimental period before I decide what to paint and what not. And what I want to show and what not.

Yes sorry Konrad and ADM for the hi-jack of your topic.
