They do remind me a lot of the Elder Scrolls game, which is fine by me.
Looking forwards to these.

I think this name is made to separate from the "Amazons of ancient mythology"
It's funny that with such a name in the Soviet film distribution demonstrated a remarkable film of the Polish director's beautiful Juliusz Machulski. In the original film called * sexmission "- but it was unpronounceable name in the USSR   )

Yeah, I'm thinking of vignette of unicorn hunted by T-rex and deer in the background looking like he doesn't care too much

Correct Alex :yeah:

Amazons set relates to Classical Amazons, and Modern Amazons to either Fantasy Amazons or women fighting in independant (of men) Groups in the post classical period

As I´m going to mix the two mounted Amazons sets together, I´m going to relace the beasts with nags.

...and before you can breath...the next set appears

I am planning a wargame for the guys at our club, based on Skyrim - I'm a recent convert. The idea is to play Dragon Rampant across a Skyrim landscape of ruins. old temples and towers. It's going to need ruined/abandoned carts (Strelets) and sabre cats (see above) bandits (using some of these new figures), but I can also see figures which are nods to ladies like Red Sonya and Azula - Grace Jones in Conan the Destroyer, and it shouldn't be difficult to find a Raven: Swordsmistress of Chaos in there, even a Lydia!

The unicorn? Well one slice with a craft knife and it's a nag!

The new Cimmerians are going to come in useful too.

Well, the Mounted Amazons arrived this morning, curtesy of Hannant's!

They really are nice moldings. Loads of details - interesting weapons, braided hair, skimpy armour and bare bums. The animals are top class models too - the Therapod dinosaur is chunky old beast that I certainly wouldn't like to meet in a dark alley. All of the animals are on a heroic scale - but they're nice models. There is some flash on the unicorn's legs and a tiny bit on the stag, but otherwise these are excellents models.

The standing, pointing amazon - who I feel is based on Red Sonya from the film is a bit skinny, (but then again Birgitte Nilsson was a skinny thing. There is flash on the human figures but without getting the craft knife out and trying clean the figures, it doesn't look like it will cause too many problems.

The three shields are nicely bare of any designs, which I prefer because it opens up the possibility for painting.

As I look at the weapons I am more and more convinced that the designer is a Skyrim - Elder Scrolls fan, like me. Two of the ladies have double handed axes, four have swords, one a spear and two have bows. One of the archers has the wind catching the big hood of her cloak and blowing it away from her face.

My favourite pose is the girl with two swords, arms akimbo, about to scythe her way through the enemies ranked up in front of her, drive them before her and listen to the lamentation of their menfolk, etc etc. (I'm going to have to find a good mount for that - one that complements her pose and just makes it even more powerful).

I haven't compared them to the 'ancient' amazons, yet, and I will post some pictures later, but I really like these.

My interest in fantasy has undergone a resurgence recently, and this useful set and these figures have arrived at just the right time.

I would be tempted to buy this just for the Dromeosaur but I can find a real practical use for those stags. just too bad no one makes a shaggy coo.
Nice lifelike poses on the big cats as well.
