First impression is very nice, but one second look the lilts are too short, and officially the officer should not have a kilt (but it looks better that way)

Am I being too critical - they are lovely figures - but the canteen is wrong, it just doesn't look like a British issue canteen to me. Or is that a style that the Highland regiments used?

I think they look good. I don't think the kilts are too long, it's the hose and spats that are perhaps a touch too low on the calf. It is also wrong to have an NCO carry the Colour. Subalterns carried the Colours, Colour Sergeants provided the escort.

Cantines - check, if wrong, remove. Good to know. Flagbearer... well... let's see how we may modify him.
Nervetheless, these figures look really great, I'm going to buy a set for sure.

My only quibble is that these are yet another flank company, with Airfix being the lone manufacturer of a the more numerous centre co. It's certainly not going to prevent me from hunting these down. They've even got the peaks tied around the bonnet

For me spoilt by the very heavy incised sudoku criss cross on the kilt.
The flag carrier was normally an ensign (2LT now or lowest ranking commissioned officer) which I thought every Nappy fan knew that but not the sculptor. The colour sergeant was usually armed with a spitoon oops sorry spontoon. Perry has the officers including the ensigns in trousers which is true of most of the other info I have seen.
The canteens come in 2 varieties (see Strelets own pics) on the figures version 1 OK but version 2 in the pics above either imagination or customised (wee knitted cover?). The real B^O canteens were constructed like barrels so the outer edge (visible rim) is the thickness of the wood with metal hoops around the outer edges.
Finally I see the ties in the pics but no peaks.
On the whole better than most other Highlander figures in this scale but cataphract type kilts or remedying them doesn't appeal to me.

Isn't that strange after all these years that companies are making miniatures? One might think that while on research, hobby painters pay more attention on the basic facts & figures then modellers often do.
But no problem, hey! We have sharp scalpels, sand paper and greenstuff. And we have all the bl***y time in the world to fix up the failures of the ppl who sell us their bad researched stuff for lots of money.

Gosh, we hobby folks are crazy, stupid people. :xd:

...and woe betide them if they don´t produce them in red plastic..
If they don´t, I´ll be straight over to the Strelets Forum and tell them in no uncertain terms that they should think again...and if they don´t, I won´t be buying them
