New: Medieval flag wagon / Carroccio 1:72

Posted by Fredericus-Rex on 19 Dec 2016, 04:09

Medieval flag wagon / Carroccio 1:72
Dimensions: Length* 84mm; Height 109mm; Width 40mm
* Length without drawbar

In the Middle Ages this car was used during the battle in the focal point of the battle. The car was driven into the enemy line and there was like a small "castle", which tied a lot of enemy knights. Detailed descriptions of the flag cart are provided by the book "The Name of Freedom 1288-1988" by Werner Schäffke. An original flag car still existed until 1794, but was then destroyed by the French and burnt as firewood. The northern alpine banner car was drawn from four to six horses.

The kit consists of resin, balsa wood, pre-printed flag, Etching parts and fin cardboard
Colors, glue, figures etc. are not included in the kit.

Fredericus,

A very nice wagon you build. And a unique item. I love this work of yours and the supporting text and illustration. Hopefully you will continue writing some info to your future subjects as well.

This looks great, congrats.
A question: are you planning a dedicated figure set to crew the wagon?
If not - which of your sets would you suggest?
Cheers, Peter

Hello Peter,

mostly the crew on the wagon are crossbow and spear men. I think Valdemar have nice set`s for the wagon:

Valdemar-Miniatures: VM065 "Knights with Crossbow" 1:72

The priest from the Set: Valdemar-Miniatures: VM098 "In Hoc Signo" 1:72

Valdemar-Miniatures: VM054 Medieval Infantry Spearmen 1:72

Regards

Conny
