My Musketeers set arrived yesterday, and a lovely set it is, too. My set was made in the brick red colour that Richelieu's Guards are shown as, above. The mould appears to be improved on prior Ultima Ratio sets - there was zero flash, which is a real bonus. My only comment is the number of poses. What we get is very good - sculpting and scale are perfect so no complaints there - but the set feels more like a 'command sprue' repeated four times rather than a core troops set. The sculpts capture the essence of the main characters from the 1970s films perfectly - but do I really need 4 D'Artagnans, 4 Athos', 4 Aramis', 4 Porthos', 4 Dukes of Buckingham, 4 Queens of France and 4 Constances?
I suspect the same will apply to the Richelieu set - but at least multiple generic guards will be useful. One suspects multiple customisations are in the offing.
Overall - what we get is superb quality - just wish we had more variation in the set, which would have made it amazing.
