If they're being used in the Peninsula perhaps a change of uniform colour and equipment?

After 1807 majority of the dragoons served on secondary theaters of wars, Spain and Italy. Many of the regiments in Spain lacked uniforms, horses and equipment. For example in Spain they were dressed in the brown cloth of the Capucines found in convents and churches. They also had difficulty in obtaining epaulettes for their elite companies and chin straps. For lack of sufficient number of regulation sabers the old Toledo-swords with three edges were used.

Yes. I've mentioned it at the bottom of the report, that because of supply shortages also brown uniforms fabricated from local cloth were worn.

The use of the 3 edged swords in place of the sabres, no epaulettes and presumably ad hoc chin straps would make a difference in appearance too.

Was very surprised on purchasing this set, to open he box and find figures in dark blue soft plastic - when PSR reviewed it as fairly hard grey plastic (which I would have preferred).
