Fortunately, Patrick and I can dream of our own exhibition building.
We will leave Hann.Münden and move to Heilbad Heiligenstadt, 35 km away. We would like to implement new modern concepts for the presentation of the dioramas on an exhibition space of 220 square meters.
For this it is also necessary to separate ourselves from old dioramas.
The move unfortunately makes it necessary to say goodbye to the "Möckern 1813" diorama. The "Cröbern 1813" diorama is also cut in half.
I will show the construction progress here, with all the ups and downs of a new building: D
The building's completion date is in spring 2021, including the incredibly complex move. This scares us a little.
Like Chris those 2 dioramas gave me huge inspiration early on in my hobby voyage, at least they will always live on in pictures. A new museum sounds exciting!
I don't think there are many that actually can build a whole house for their figures and dioramas. I can just dream about it. This looks great and I wish you all luck in the future!
The work on our new museum continues. All of our dioramas have a high-quality wooden cladding. High-quality plexiglass panels with explanations of the dioramas were also attached. The windows are still given foils to balance the color temperatures between daylight and artificial light. Many pictures still have to be hung up, large dioramas such as "Cröbern 1813" and "Teutonic Order 1329" have to be reworked and reassembled.
There are also many new dioramas such as:
Fröschweiler 1870 Tunisia 1942 Rorke's Drift 1879 as well as the new large samurai diorama of a fortress siege
There are also beautiful dioramas from our friend Wolfgang Hartung, who unfortunately passed away much too early, in the exhibition. We will also revise these and they will also get the high-quality wooden surround.
We are also planning three dioramas on the American Civil War.
So there is still a lot to do!
We would like to open our museum next year with the 3rd DIORAMICA, which is unfortunately also delayed. We will announce the date in good time for all dealers and exhibitors or interested visitors.
It's a fantastic building with a wonderful and exciting dioramas collection inside it, Wolfgang. An absolut must for anyone who lives or travels near its emplacement.
Very good luck and all the best for this amazing high scale project.
