Roman Infantry (Italeri 6021)
Roman Cavalry (Italeri 6028)
Gaul Warriors (Italeri 6022)
Celtic Cavalry (Italeri 6029)
MDF laser cut Village Buildings (4 buildings & a cart ?)

Soviet Infantry (presumably Esci 203/Italeri 6057)
German Infantry (presumably Esci 201/Italeri 6033)

IS-2 Stalin (presumably Italeri 7502)
8,8cm Flak 37 AA Gun with crew (Italeri 7512)
Pz.Kpfw.V Panther Ausf.G (presumably Italeri 7504)
Pz.Kpfw.VI Tiger I Ausf.E (presumably Italeri 7505)
MDF laser cut Berlin Reichstag

6196 - Gladiators Fight playset
Gladiators with chariot & wild animals (Italeri 6062)
Roman Infantry (presumably Esci 224/Italeri 6047)
MDF laser cut Amphitheatre Ludus Arena

7077 - Sd.Kfz.251/8 Ausf.C mittlerer Krankenpanzerwagen (already released)
7078 - T-34/76 Model 1943 (Esci 8047)

7080 - Sd.Kfz.251/1 mittlerer Schützenpanzerwagen with Wurfrahmen 40 (Esci 8022)
7081 - Churchill Mk.III (?, could be an error, since they already re-released Esci 8043 "Churchill Mk.IV" many years ago)

On the bright side, they announce a brand new Semovente da 75/18 in 1/35, NATO Pilots & Ground Crew in 1/32 and Spitfire Mk.I in 1/48... . :coffee:

I wonder how big the lasercut version (by Sarissa Precision I presume) of the Reichstag will be. Should be huge.

Meanwhile, Italeri released a few of their announced 1/72 kits.

6196 - “Gladiators Fight“ Ludus Gladiatorius gladiator training school playset
- Gladiators, chariot & wild animals, 14 figs in 11 poses + horses & beasts (Italeri 6062)
- Roman Infantry, 40 figs in 11 poses (Esci 224/Italeri 6047)
- MDF laser cut “Gladiator Arena“
Sadly, there are no spectators included. Hence one could try to populate the scene with appropriate Linear-B, Nikolai or similar figures.

7077 - Sd.Kfz.251/8 Ausf.C mittlerer Krankenpanzerwagen (Esci 8067)
7078 - T-34/76 Model 1943 (Esci 8047)

Furthermore, some sources are stating that Italeri designed a brand new T-55 kit, an in-house design, no Revell or other cooperation.
The same sources announce the re-release of a former Toxso kit, namely the German WWII schwere 10cm Feldkanone 18.
The original kit contains a schwere Protze 18 für Kraftzug limber and is quite good already. It seems the Italeri re-release will contain an alternative barrel which allows to build the 15cm schwere Feldhaubitze 18 as well. Both versions were widely used standard guns during WWII.
Excellent, but equally confusing news. Maybe one of our italian friends could shed some light on the validity of this?
Any further information would be greatly appreciated!

I believe the T-55 have started its life as a Toxso kit as well. On the Henk of Holland page, you can see that Toxso announced it, but did not go anywhere - hopefully this means we will see a Shilka further down the line.

Italeri provides a preview of the next upcoming playset on its website.

6195 - Berlin 1945: Battle for the Reichstag
- Soviet Infantry (32 figures, presumably 2 sprues of Italeri 6069)
- German Infantry (32 figures, presumably 2 sprues of Italeri 6068)
- T-34/85 (presumably Italeri 7515)
- 8,8cm Flak 37 AA Gun with crew (Italeri 7512)
- huge MDF laser cut Berlin Reichstag
Previously indicated IS-2, Panther & Tiger I seem not to be included. Nevertheless a pretty enormous set, available in November.

In the meantime 2 more kits have been released.

7080 - Sd.Kfz.251/1 mittlerer Schützenpanzerwagen with Wurfrahmen 40 (Esci 8022)
7082 - 15cm schwere Feldhaubitze 18 / schwere 10cm Feldkanone 18 (extended Toxso kit 1407, including limber & 5 crew figures)

Zirrian could be right and the displayed T-55 design is from Toxso as well. Interesting development, as Revell also announces a whole range of former Toxso kits & projects.
Anyway, at the moment we can look forward to at least 2 future kits.

7079 - Sd.Kfz.251/10 mittlerer Schützenpanzerwagen 3,7cm Pak (Esci 8053)
7081 - T-55 (Toxso design?)

Much impressive building!
(although not suitable for my own purposes and taste too, for I don’t like half buildings in my dio).

The box pictures are somewhat misleading, for the shown infantry sets in the dio pics are the now very old Esci sets (note: made in 1982!; and for quite some years now also sold under the Italeri label).
But the box art, as also seen in Peters picture above, shows quite a different uniform (more late war).

Personally I think it’s always a missed oppurtunity and perhaps bit of a shame to recycle those outdated soldier sets over and over again.

The crew for the 88 flak is wearing the Luftwaffe tropical uniform. But painted in more regular colours. The officer with the Herman Meyer cap (with the typical sun flap in the neck) is missing in the pictures (perhaps that was clever :xd: ).

Still: love the dio and building.

I looked at the pictures of the sprues of the German howitzer set on the Italeri website and compared them to the sprues in the instructions for the Toxso model on the Henk of Holland website and it looks like Italeri has added a new sprue to make the 15cm sFH18 howitzer. The Toxso model was for the 10cm K18 canon, which shares the same carriage but has a longer barrel. So the Italeri model is a 2 in 1 and I think the only other plastic braille scale version of the sFH18 was made by Ace and the quality of their models varies depending on how early in the production run the model was made as they are short run kits. So this should be the best plastic version of this widely used heavy howitzer in 1/72 scale.

Unfortunately, Italeri has kept the crew from the Toxso version, and the figures are not very good (see pics on PSR), the proportions are off and the sculpting isn't very crisp. Reminds me of the Caesar artillery/howitzer crew set which I do not like. I feel like there are many 1/72 German gun/artillery sets with crews but most of the figures are not that good, the exception is the Revell set (good luck finding it) and the Zvezda AoT set (only 2 figures, most wargamers use a crew of 4 for artillery). I have the First to Fight leFH18 set but I don't like their figures, also remind me of the more recent figure sets by Caesar. I'm planning on using the Dragon PaK40 crew for the S-Model sIG33 I have in my stash which does not come with figures. I would love it if another manufacturer would come out with a great set of German crew in 1/72 that could be used with all these great gun/howitzer models being made by Italeri, First to Fight and S-Model. The Caesar set just doesn’t do it for me.

Nice work there as usual Will.

Do you usually place artillery on table? I always feel like artillery models are something I want to paint but I don’t need as they should be off table.

For Rapid Fire and Battleground they can be on table. Mine were painted from some very bir Rapid Fire Games that extended over a large area so rear areas were included.
Here is part of our Alamein game.

The 100mm was also used in extremis as a direct fire weapon against Soviet armour, so I would like another for eastern front games.

Italeri released the kit in question today and it seems indeed to be another of the previously “lost“ Toxso kits.

7081- T-55 A

Based on the arrangement of the sprues, it is definitely not a Revell re-release.

zirrian wrote:... hopefully this means we will see a Shilka further down the line.

Although I would have bet on a Zvezda kit coming out soon, this would of course be an equally good opportunity to finally have this vehicle in our preferred scale.

This looks very special indeed.

The building looks fantastic and extremely useful for other periods.

The actual Abbey, as I remember was not used by the Germans until after it’s destruction by the Allies, whereupon the rubble made a great fortification and observation platform.

Not quite what was intended.

Best wishes,

Chris
