Waterloo Uncovered Charity Fundraiser

The Waterloo Remodelled team held an exhibition in a village hall over the weekend, with two lectures on Saturday and Sunday nights. Here are some pictures from the event.

Splendid and spectacular, a work of art in progress and the product of many thousands of hours of dedicated work. Well done to all involved!

Amongst many other delights in viewing the photographs in detail, I have to say that it is very pleasing to see the venerable Airfix Waterloo infantry (marching) and marching French Waterloo Artillery gunners playing their part. These old miniatures are hardly up to the standard of more recent sets, and certainly there are some very fine metals as well amongst the mass of figures that make up this project. But the Airfix figures are where, for many of us, the interest in 're-fighting' Napoleonic warfare in miniature started. So all praise to those who have painted these old and familiar models for them to be included here.

That makes 2 of us MABO. I hope the fundraiser was a huge success. It probably won't happen but I'm dreaming of getting over to see Neys grand cavalry charge. If I can't make it I'll have to send my kids over in my stead.
