Ya know... at the risk of being the Devil's Advocate, I say there IS still plenty of room and need for WWII figures! Nevermind the japanese have been grossly overlooked... and nevermind these, I believe, are listed as "Kursk period" ( Summer '43)...
What about casualties? There is an astounding LACK of casualties that seems ridiculous when one stops to think about WHAT war IS! Not just dead, either. Or dead in a variety of disfigured, and grotesque manners and positions. Wounded? Buddies helping the comrades? Comforting them? I realize there are a handful of these poses out there, but still... converting can get tiresome!
Medics? Field personnel? Other support personnel? Runners? Snipers? Sappers, Engineers?
And my latest "cause celbre".... hand to hand combat! Granted, in this late age of the firearm, where there is so much distanced combat... but still, in bitter city confines such as Kharkov, Arnhem, Stalingrad, Berlin, DDay along the beaches, well, you get the idea... it did, and still does happen!
Now these guys from Zvezda in particular? There sculpting is really great usually, but "scale creep" is getting them better of them ( read: Egyptians that are gorgeous, but virtual giants!)... and what the hell is going on with the little mountains they are mounted on? As a dio builder, I clip all bases anyway... but they just look goofy!
