Slow server?

Posted by Maurice on 29 Oct 2010, 20:12

Is your server slow again or something, because for a couple of days now it takes forever for this site to respond when you click a link, and I do not have the problem with any other site, so the problem must be here somewhere. Plus the chatroom has a crap connection again, for several days now.

I don´t know about the chatroom but the rest of the site is very s......l.....o.....w When I post this, I know that I can go and make a cup of coffee, drink it, walk the dog and come back and it´s still loading..it has been like this for a week or so now.

The slow loading times are not browser but server related. A right browser could lower loading times of pages though, but if the server is slow that won't help much. At this moment Google Chrome is the best browser to visit this forum in. It has much faster loading times than Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. I know because I have the latest version of both other browsers running on my PC as well. ;-)

It was (and is) running very slow for me. I gave up after about 10 minutes of waiting to post a reply to a thread.

If it is server related, then please give the folks that are supposed to run and maintain the server for you a huge kick underneath the lower end of their backs for doing a crap job at it.

It's part of the shared hosting service I have.

I'm going to upgrade so I'll have my own server, but this costs 4x as much as it does now. This might take 1-2 months because I don't have any money at the moment. I too find the slowness of the website highly irritating, but there's nothing I can do about it now. :(
